3-button navigation obscures the 'Save network' popup

Hi,

This issue has been around for a while, and it continues to annoy people. When users have the 'classic' 3-button navigation turned on in their settings instead of what is now the default gestures system, the 3-button navigation partially (or completely) obscures input to the 'Save network' pop up. See screenshot (kindly provided by a user on the cat-users mailing list). This is a problem and it does annoy people (including myself) and leads to bad user feedback on the app store (I've seen several of these).

Can you fix this (can you detect if 3-button nav is on), or, maybe more accurately, can you control where the pop-up goes and appears? If not, can you please reply to this and we'll have to try and raise this with Google?

The conflict is indicated in this modified image (unless you can hit the tiny gap just right, you hit the square button instead of 'Save').

Thanks for your report.
This is indeed an issue within the Android system and not our application.
I confirmed it happening on our Pixel device using the latest Android version.
We have opened a ticket at Google: https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/384954770
However, they won't be able to fix this retroactively for older Android versions. So if this is still happening to you, the solution is to switch to Gesture based navigation for this one time.

Thanks for raising it, @dzolnai. I'll check some other Android devices with A11, 12, 13, 14, and 15 beta to see which ones have the problem.

thank you for bothering :-) The workaround is actually pretty simple i most cases: Rotate the phone to landscape orientation (with auto rotate on) so as to get the buttons to some other location. I think for the time being we will include this in our user instructions. Good luck with Google! Martin
