Exact Reproduction Steps

I build web app, with optimizations, the final wasm file with debug information has around 600MB (after striping ~30MB).
This is a product where I work, and I share this wasm file using email-support (ask Kobby, the file I am sending you has never been uploaded to sentry).

• Get whiteboard-sdk-web-mt.debug.symbols file
• Run CLI command

Expected Results

I expected the CLI upload debug wasm files, and display success message.

Actual Results

The CLI display 'internal server error' and non-zero exit code.

I'm already fixing few minor problems, see: getsentry/sentry-cli#2120,
but I still have problem with upload debug symbols.

Hey @trzeciak, thanks for reaching out. I think you may have had a miscommunication with @Kobby-Bawuah, since this repo (which I am responsible for) is for the Sentry CLI, but the error you are observing is an internal server error originating from the Sentry backend, which lives in a different repository.

After some investigation, I am pretty confident that this "internal server error" is in fact simply being relayed from the server. The server appears to be returning a 200 status code from the DifAssembleEndpoint which the Sentry CLI code hits. However, the response body contains information for each of the uploaded files, and in your case, one of the files (whiteboard-sdk-web-mt.debug.symbols) caused an internal server error, which the Sentry CLI is simply relaying to you in the output.

I am going to transfer this issue over to the getsentry/sentry repository. That is the repository for the backend, and the maintainers in that repository will be better able to investigate why this error is happening and how you can work around it. Perhaps the file you are trying to upload is not supported for whatever reason, but even in that case, the server should be returning a more helpful error message than just "internal server error."
