Agreed. AFAIK the macOS-latest GitHub runner is x86 not M1/M2. I have a M1 Pro with 16G RAM and a M1 Air with 16G RAM to test with.

Added a few lines to get #2099 working on Darwin OpenMPI. Builds but I haven't tested.
