[Bug]: Apple Pencil Text Annotation Cursor Jumps to Start After First Word

How to reproduce?

When annotating an image using the text annotation tool with an Apple Pencil, the cursor behaves incorrectly after writing more than one word. Specifically:

The first handwritten-to-text word works normally.

When writing the second word at normal or fast speed, the cursor jumps to the beginning of the sentence, inserting the new word at the start instead of after the previous one.

This results in sentences becoming reversed, unreadable, or nonsensical.

This only happens when using Apple Pencil handwriting-to-text. When typing normally via keyboard or touchscreen, the issue does not appear.

1. Open pro_image_editor and create any image annotation.

2. Select the Text tool.

3. Use Apple Pencil and write two or more words quickly (using Scribble).

4. Observe that the second word is inserted at the beginning of the sentence.

Thanks for reporting the issue.

This one might be a bit tricky to fix, and at the moment I can't test it myself with the Apple Pencil. However, to help pinpoint the root cause, we can break things down a bit. Could you try the following two steps and see if they work on your end? My current guess is that the problem comes from RoundedBackgroundTextField, as it calls setState when the text changes.

1. Try using the TextEditorInput on its own, without the editor. You can use some dummy data just to check whether it works.
2. Do the same with RoundedBackgroundTextField.
