It would be ideal to have "highlight program basename" in F2 -> Display Options operate the same as in version 3.0.2 and below (unconditional turquoise highlighting), and have stale binary highlighting become a new option that is separate from this.
The options need not be coupled, such that you could have stale binary highlighting but not basename highlighting which would result in red basenames for stale binaries while leaving the rest is uncoloured, but I'm impartial to these specifics and so I'll leave that for the developers to decide (or others can chime in here.)
