inflate broken

The inflate optimization:
62b7616
broke inflate for small inputs (e.g. 8 bytes). The output is corrupted and the output length is wrong.
Unfortunately, I don't have a minimal reproducible case.

I've tested this quite a bit and haven't been able to reproduce any issue. Do you have a test case?
