This commit fixes the country and updates other author info for Daniel Fischer (me).

If you need verification, unfortunately the e-mail address and the company listed in the old df.hint file no longer exist. But if you send snail mail to the home address, my mother will probably forward it to me. :)

And rebuild authors.html and location.html.

My guess is that this will not be a problem. Note however that this might not be merged until after both judging of IOCCC29 is complete and the winners have been announced. That's not a certainty but that's quite likely as the judges are (mostly) in a 'radio silence' (as they say) right now (minus brief updates about judging).

I love your entry btw!

I'm happy that you like it. :)

This is of course not an urgent change. I just randomly realized today that the country was wrong, and then I found out that I can fix it myself.

Oh it's a LOT of fun! How you concealed the strings is interesting (I haven't tried to figure it out and it was not immediately obvious).

I did however make a minor fix for modern systems and to make it look as much like the original.

There's a fun way to 'beat' the puzzle every time. You probably already know it but if you do...

echo abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz | ./df

it solves it without any work. Cheating of course but it's fun to see things like that. I guess you knew it though (or if not you probably guessed)?

I also figured out how to cheat at 1991/westley.

Yes but you missed the entry index.html file too. That also has the country.

Yes, I saw the fixes! They made me happy :)

I think the cheat is how I tested it. I don't really remember, it's a long time ago. Btw., for all the "i love unix" in there (that you fixed the readability of), I actually wrote this on a 68k Mac using Metrowerks CodeWarrior. I remember being happy when it actually worked on BSD too.

Thanks for the note about the entry index.html, I updated it too now.

I am happy to hear that!

That makes sense to me. I have done similar in some of my entries too.

I love unix also but I'm writing this on a MacBook Pro M4 Max. Landon also uses Apple (and linux). In the early 2000s I went from BSD (previously was using SunOS) to linux due to a project of mine and BSD's libc being sorely behind. I've used vim for years but before that just vi. I've never used an IDE.

What do you use nowadays?

I haven't used any strictly BSD since maybe 2002 or 2003 at the latest but mostly I use macOS (ssh into the server when need linux).

I should have said: it's done by editing the JSON file and then regenerating the file. Not sure if you did that? I can barely see right now to check I'm afraid.
