Is this project dead?

I was wondering if we should consider this project dead. No releases in a year and this is not compatible with latest version of gradle. Is there any maintainer active?

This project should be compatible with gradle 8.5. But it's not. See this bug #219

I just realized my last conversation with Paul was about native support for JPMS coming to Gradle.

So I'm wondering: have any of you tried using this native support? (https://docs.gradle.org/current/samples/sample_java_modules_multi_project.html)

I'm wondering whether - in light of this - we shouldn't just archive this project.

Hey folks, I've not been looking at this project at all either, unfortunately. I just noticed the ping.

If there are fixes/PRs I'm happy to get those merged etc., but I won't be able to actively work on it besides that.
And yes, as @tlinkowski pointed out, I'm curious about the state of support in Gradle itself.

There's #228 outstanding at the moment.

Would you be interesting in taking on myself as a collaborator? You can see my most recent project as https://github.com/orgs/creek-service, which is still in alpa. I've worked for the big tech giants and small startups.

I'm not saying I'd have loads of time to work on this, but I can at least review and merge a few PRs, update dependencies etc, and if you're comfortable, do the occasional release.

While I agree JPMS hasn't seen the adoption some may have hoped through the wider Java community, this plugin is still actively used and it would be a shame to lose it. As such, I'm happy to hep where I can.

I do not know how the gradle's support is. But i use this module to produce a jar compatible with all versions of java from 8 to 21+. And from what i read in the official gradle's documentation this is not supported. So please accept new collaborators. This plugin should be compatible with latest version of gradle.
