Feature request: Decreasing k #75

Hello,

another suggestion for functionality that might be extremely helpful in real applications that require high sensitivity.

Imagine that, for any reason, I have a precomputed Fulgor index (k=31), but need to go to lower k's (eg k=20, which would still be reasonably high for Fulgor to work ok-ish – even if speed is partially downgraded).

Would it be possible to somehow easily generate an updated 20-mer index from the original 31-mer index? I assume that the core issue is likely the SPSS recomputation but there might be tricks how to (partially) avoid this.

(Eg, for applications such as Phylign, this would be a killer feature – we would distribute indexes for a high k, and the end user could tailor them for their use case.)

Thanks
Karel
