Apply Docstring format

I would suggest applying a formal Docstring format that explicitly describe the input parameters. I personally like Numpy docstrings: https://numpydoc.readthedocs.io/en/latest/format.html#docstring-standard

I've adapted the docstring a bit, kinda following the numpy format. Let me know if you think it improves stuff a bit.
