Hey, I'm Juan David Herrera 👋🏻

I'm an ML Backend Engineer with over 4 years of experience in backend development and data engineering. My main focus is building and optimizing microservices, ensuring scalability, performance, and efficiency in data handling.

Currently, I work at Snoonu, developing backend solutions using Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, and Redis, while applying clean code principles, testing with Pytest, and automating workflows with GitHub Actions. I also have experience with Airflow and Snowflake, particularly in Data Engineering environments.

At Snoonu, I’ve been involved in refactoring a monorepo, breaking it down into multiple independent libraries and services to improve code modularity and maintainability. Additionally, I contribute to developing new features and fixes, focusing on optimizing ML model responses and reducing processing times within our microservices. To achieve this, I work closely with a team of Data Scientists, ensuring seamless integration between models and the backend infrastructure.
