Hi there! I am Kavvya Ramarathnam — a Software Development Engineer in the Microsoft Security Division, building secure infrastructure and AI-powered security tooling at scale. I specialize in distributed systems, cloud security, and applying agentic AI to real-world security challenges. Previously, I interned at Amazon Robotics and worked as a full-stack developer for 3 years at Aruba Networks. I hold a Master's in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (GPA: 3.96), where I worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant under Prof. Michael Woodley.
My current focus is at the intersection of security engineering and AI — building systems that protect cloud infrastructure, detect threats, and automate security workflows. I also enjoy contributing to open-source projects to collaborate with the broader engineering community.

I contributed to open source projects and assisted Prof.Darko Marinov in one of his research project Nondex. My contributions involved finding open source Java projects like Hadoop, Cloudstack etc., and running Nondex plugin to finding non-determinism in Java programs. I have also raised pull-requests (PR) to fix the non-determinism.
