node shading overlay should change

The way shading looks on a node is too much like a competitor.

Lets go more iPhone icon style. Here is a sample, with a template - don't know if it will help...

It's a image not a shading effect. I am looking for good circular image with shading for node. If you have any proper circular image you can suggest me.

I have one - attached. it is intended to be used as a .png overlay on top
of whatever round object you're shading. If you need square let me know.

Okay, I will use the image given by you but for that i need to rotate image to match with the respective ports so it will take bit more calculations to work perfectly for each.

But it will be easy for me, if we can use any circular image [separator] which will look same for every angle. only if it's okay for you.

The formula is atan(dx,dy) where dx is xSource-xTarget and dy is
ySource-yTarget. IIRC it is in radians, but not sure

Nice. It still leave just one pixel of circle outlining the node showing.
Is ti possible to draw the connector *after *drawing the circle around the
node? Or, if that isn't the problem, just scale the connector up a tiny
bit...

I just noticed this issue somehow got confused with making the node and port attach to each other. That is fine, but we also need a different shading on the node itself - the areas in red look too much like a competitor.

I suggest using the below instead. It is already in .png format:
