Firefox does not save the login information

Firefox can save logins for webpages for easier login. Unfortunally this feature does not seem to work with ANNIS.

The problem is, that the input field must exist already when loading the page. It should not only be generated by JavaScript after loading it.

Vaadin supports the same hack used by ExtJS (iframe that has static html) but unfortunally modern browsers don't support this any longer. Firefox still does, so this works in Firefox but not Chrome oder IE.

We refactored the implementation and it now works again at least in Firefox and Chrome
