xsd:duration datatype for bf:duration

I converted a record from MARCXML to BIBFRAME and was unable to convert the output to Turtle because of an error with a value for bf:duration that should have been expressed using the xsd:duration datatype but was not. The output was 001000 instead of PT10M. Your documentation for bf:duration suggests that 001000 was expected. I think this might be an error and am wondering if it could be addressed by modifying the converter or the BIBFRAME ontology. Thanks.
