How (and possibly why) to create a lambda on the heap instead of the stack

You cannot in any meaningful way create a lambda on the heap. Why? Because only captureless lambdas are default constructible.

If you really want this, then you want to write your own function with a call operator overload or possibly move an existing lambda on to the heap.
