! is redundant (with "NOT") and causes unnecessary complications when searching for titles with ! ~ (like-search) ended up not being used.
The point of this is to able to use "()" as a code for "everything".

LGTM! Some additional adjustments to handle the empty string will be needed. I’ll follow up on that.
