BadValue when docking/undocking on P50

I get following error when I either manually set the mode or when docking/undocking with daemon:

X Error of failed request:  BadValue (integer parameter out of range for operation)
  Major opcode of failed request:  140 (RANDR)
  Minor opcode of failed request:  21 (RRSetCrtcConfig)
  Value in failed request:  0x0
  Serial number of failed request:  22
  Current serial number in output stream:  22

Daemon also exits after the error.

When changing the configuration with xrandr there's no problems.

My lazy workaround currently is to run xrandr commands in the hook scripts. In dock.hook I need to sleep for some 2 seconds before running it or the external monitor's modes are not available yet. Also keeping the conf files empty so it won't exit on error.
