Speed control of very simple K3NG keyer

I built a very simple K3NG keyer, no pot, no buttons, no nothing, just a paddle as input and keying to transmitter as output in hardware. It works fine with not1mm except for that the keying speed doesn't change in keyer when I change in not1mm. There is something about that you really should have a speed pot in the code. Do I have to have a pot even for the update from the log program and the keyer to work?

Hmm, Off the top of my head I can only assume that when queried for the pot speed, the k3ng doesn't return a value related to the set speed.

The program polls the device every 100 mili-seconds asking for the pot state.

The k1el will return a pot speed equivalent to the manually set speed until the pot is physically rotated.

So maybe I can add an option to disable the polling of the device.

Hmmm, I can't get winkeyerserial to work properly with not1mm. I can adjust the speed with the pot on my "big" K3NG keyer, but changes in not1mm doesn't take effect. And for my "small" K3NG keyer I can obviously not change the speed at all as there is no pot. Now I questioning my brain. Has it ever worked to change the speed from not1mm with winkeyerserial? I can't remember...
