when i install the daqhats ,it always prompts that the path /sys/class/i2c-adapter/i2c-3/new_device does not exist, and indeed I can't find this folder under the class directory.

I encountered the same issue. It looks like the script is using sysfs paths that no longer exist in the newer RPi kernels.
In my case downgrading to kernel 6.6 worked (e.g. sudo rpi-update 192d8e0b9d2ea6eabdc7745ba3c0ef963ea634aa for 6.6.78)
