Reading the README causes Python 3.2 to raise a UnicodeDecodeError because the file contains Unicode characters. This change has been tested with Python 2.6, 2.7 and 3.2.

Fantastic package by the way; I'm planning on using it in the Sparkfun AUtonomous Vehicle COmpetition this year.

Safe signals are already ignored (PR 62: #62). The setup.py fix might be good, need to find a bit of time for the test.
