Going to test 0.0.0-master.31 vs 0.0.0-master.32 (which has the change).

Confirmed #4575 is the culprit. Not sure how confined the regression is (i.e. it could affect other ViewManagers).

@asklar since the change isn't user-facing, could you please back this out today and then resubmit after we branch with some extra validation?
