It's also annoying that colors adds proprietary extensions to String.prototype.

The code required to generate color codes is so trivial that I think we could just build this into node-core-library without taking any external dependency. We already have AnsiEscape.ts and Colors.ts, so we should just provide a simple API (decoupled from Terminal) that makes it easy to convert code that was using colors.

I think that's the right way to go. I have this PR (#2747) open to move Terminal and Colors. We can make API changes there and then I can update our libraries next week when I'm on a cross-country flight.

As far as priority: It seems that none of the Rush Stack NPM releases were affected by this incident because our SemVer range "~1.2.1" excludes the exploited version 1.4.44-liberty-2.
