When generating sln, some projects referenced by dirs.proj are included and some are skipped

I am seeing some weird behavior with slngen when generating dirs.sln in our root folder in the repo. Some of the project referenced by the dirs.proj files simply do not appear in the final sln file or the Solution Explorer in Visual Studio.

Is there an update on this?
It happened to my team when updated to VS 2026. After that - the msbuildproj files are not in the sln file.
Things I tried:

1. We used v12.0.10 and I updated to 12.0.32
2. Added the msbuildproj directory in the dirs.proj
3. Added the msbuildproj extension with property in the dirs.proj and directory.build.props.

I also noticed that in VS, when adding an existing project through the UI, the msbuildproj is a known extension.

Is there an ETA on the fix?
