Using DCP with discrete event simulations

I don't know if this is the right place to ask this. But I'm trying to use the DCPLib, in particular i'd like to use a NS-3 simulation as a Slave. How can i manage the synchronization and the event handling? Thank you in advance for any tips you can give me and I apologize if the post is not in the right place.
