  • Slit table creation and maintenance
  • Automatic slit mask
  • Add button to shift all slits by some offset dx, dy.
  • Add spatial CR correction using LA_COSMIC in quick look processing.
  • Display median average instead of total when multiple images are taken for to ql processing, also for CR removal.
  • For simulated images, use only SkyMapper on main form, move other catalogs to Guide Star Form.
  • Create Guide Stars Form: main need is to get the offset in mm between telescope “goto” coordinates and actual pointed coordinates, converted in mm; done on main form.
  • After twirl, match our QL photometry with SkyMapper, SDSS or PanStarrs to get photometric zero points on the fly.
  • SAM has substantial field distortion: add SIP coefficients after twirl solution; save them and put by default in fits header. From SAMI manual:
    “Determine the distortion correction by >ccmap aimage.fits. The parameters of this procedure should be set to take long,lat from columns 1,2 and x,y from columns 4,5 of the input file ccmap.dat. The result is written in the FITS header of the image.
  • FWHM: using find stars, one of the byproducts is the FWHM. Print the average value to find/check best telescope focus.
  • Allow for rotation/flip of the images displayed by Ginga, in the case the optics of SAM+SAMOS rotate/flip the image.
  • Rotate(angle) command allows to rotate the images, .flip could also be added. At the moment .rotate(90) is applied to SDSS, and then .rotate(0) to the other images to be displayed, for safety.
