This repository uses GitHub Actions to automatically discover and suggest new high-quality content every week!

How It Works

  1. Weekly Scan: Every Monday at 9 AM UTC, the workflow runs automatically
  2. Multi-Source Search: Searches YouTube, arXiv, and Hacker News for new content
  3. Quality Filtering: Only suggests content that meets strict quality criteria:
    • YouTube: 10K+ views from trusted channels
    • arXiv: Recent papers in AI/ML categories
    • Hacker News: 100+ score on technical topics
  4. Automated PR: Creates a pull request with suggested additions
  5. Manual Review: Maintainers review and merge quality content

Setup (For Repository Maintainers)

To enable automated content discovery:

  1. Get YouTube API Key:

    • Go to Google Cloud Console
    • Create a new project or select existing
    • Enable YouTube Data API v3
    • Create credentials (API Key)
    • Copy the API key
  2. Add Repository Secret:

    • Go to repository Settings β†’ Secrets and variables β†’ Actions
    • Click "New repository secret"
    • Name: YOUTUBE_API_KEY
    • Value: Your YouTube API key
    • Click "Add secret"
  3. Manual Trigger (Optional):

    • Go to Actions tab β†’ "Update Mental Food Content"
    • Click "Run workflow" to trigger manually
