Load relevant photos for current map sector only

Hi,

I have some photos on my cloud (17,842 are currently initialized) and if I want to show them on the map it takes very long (1.8min) until apps/maps/photos request is done. After that the previews start to load. Browser performance breaks down, but it is okay. All in all it takes around 5 minutes.

Whatever, I think that it would make sense to filter the response of photos to the current view of the map.

I have already thought about it, already tried some lazy loading, too. Haven't gotten anything bedder then the current solutions. I'm happy for PR's.

Yes, please. Came here to look for this.
77k pictures, takes 4 minutes for the images to load.

But looking at this, I'm seeing that this is only a 33MB file. So another option could be some form of caching?

I mean, you only need to generate /apps/maps/photos when scanning new (or removing) files, not every time that this gets called.

Perhaps this way is faster than loading only relevant photos.
