Were you thinking a separate tab with form controls above the stacked area chart? Would be helpful to link similar implementations.

The main issue here is retrieving downloads per version, especially over time. The closest available existing solution found was this separately maintained repo with the following interface, which tracks downloads per version, but not over time.
