[Question] How do typing indicators know when to stop?

When I am typing, the other person gets the typing notifications right away. However, if I stop typing (even erase all my text and click out of the text box), the typing indicators still stay for a very long time. Below is a photo (the typing indicators on the iPhone are a little hard to see, so I put a blue box around them).

WebMessage starts and stops sending typing indicators right as they need to be. Here is a video from @sgtaziz
