Bug Description

Hello!

There are several rendering issues; I hope on community/developers help to fix several, as I think, critical visual bugs.

Latest docker compose, nginx as reverse proxy. Setup without keycloak, but with collabora office.

1. Please, look at next screencast. Here at the middle of (web browser cache is disabled) main page load there is strange fullscreen logo showcase; and in general on dark theme white background looks bad.

2. as an continuation of 1., there are browser errors in console

3. not-contrast avatar look

4. last issue, my favorite one - no correct favicon; and even in theory no way to change it in admin panel

Reproduction Steps

Fresh docker compose with nginx proxy

Expected Outcome

Normal rendering of favicon, smooth fluent page load in browser, without flickering.

Actual Outcome

A lot of visual rendering artifacts, high priority to fix, as I see it.

I agree that the fullscreen logo shouldn't be there, that's something we need to look into. Not sure if we can do much about the white background with the dark theme though because the theme needs to get loaded first, so we don't have that initially.

2. as an continuation of 1., there are browser errors in console

The second error on the GET is to be expected if your user doesn't have an avatar. For the first error I'm missing a bit of context. Does the network tab in your browser report any 404 XHR requests?

That's weird, normally this should be dark on bright. Do you have a custom theme?

4. last issue, my favorite one - no correct favicon; and even in theory no way to change it in admin panel

The favicon gets determined by the theme. Again, are you using a custom one? Either way, first thing to check would be if the browser loads the favicon. In your network tab, there should be a request to whatever favicon your theme specifies (default would be /themes/opencloud/assets/favicon.svg).

I will do "reinstall" and deploy from scratch with and without nginx proxy.

I do not change theme neither for web nor desktop clients

1. First bug I could not understand.

2. I will recheck after re-deploy.

3. My mistake - I had not wrotten - it's official desktop client, not web browser.

4. Favicon could not be change - as brand restriction, ok; but - I do not see a favicon on any browser bookmark manager.

Not for domain without a query string, not for authorized page. It's bad experience, red flag for me.

I am planning to deploy the service soon, but some these bugs should be fixed. At least, first and last.

As I said, this seems to be related to your setup. Please check in your browser network tab if the favicon is being requested and delivered by the server. Also, since you're using Keycloak as an external IDP, the favicon for the login page needs to be set there.
