The issue is deeply discussed on community discord:

In short: boosting or setting weights via btcli doesn't works on local environment.

To Reproduce

Follow all the steps up to the last one in these docs

Expected behavior

The weights are set for subnet 1

This is a bug with the current https://github.com/opentensor/bittensor package being broken by a breaking change on the development branch of subtensor.

Changes the set_weights call for setting root weights to use set_root_weights

btcli root boost --netuid --increase 0.2 --wallet.name coldkey --wallet.hotkey hotkey
