Unable to stop recording.

I can start a recording for a new time record (enter project, activity, description, ...) but I can't stop it.

Steps to reproduce:

• Start recording (enter description etc).
• press the red stop button.

Expected result:

Recording stops and end time is saved.

Actual result:

Instead of stopping the button that shows the recording time transforms into the same button but with "Stop" written next to the icon (it does this as long as you hold the button). When releasing the button, it returns to its red state with the timer still counting upwards. The record in the backend is not stopped.

Workaround:

The "Stop" variant of the button appears to show up at the top. Tapping and holding the running counter at the top, such that the "Stop" variant appears underneath your finger appears to make the "Stop" variant stay on screen. Tapping that then manages to stop the recording.

Device: SAMSUNG Galaxy S25 Ultra with latest Android OS and updates. (Android 15, One UI 7.0, Google Play system update 2025-04-01, security patch level 2025-05-01)
App: 1.1.0 (installed from Google Play Store)

after you start recording in mobile app, is timer in Kimai app also running?
What Kimai version are you using?

The timer in Kimai is running (the task is started). When I manage to stop it in CodeTimer with the workaround, it also stops in Kimai.
I'm running Kimai 2.35.1 (prod) in Docker.

I described the workaround in the original issue text (and show it at the end of the linked video at the 15-second timestamp): If I tap and hold the stop button with the timer at the very top, it switches to the 'Stop' text (a new button that says "Stop" shows up a little higher than the original button) and stays that way when I let go. I can then tap the new 'Stop' button that has appeared, and it stops the recording.

Yes, the project/timesheet is set to be billable. (This is a brand new instance I am playing around with, most settings were left at the default.)

Is problem appier also in demo?
I am trying to simulate this issue, but so far no luck. I tried physically devices and various of emulators.

Unfortunately, the demo is worse: The timer doesn't start at all.

Edit: Testing with token_admin works (recording starts), but the problem is the same: I cannot stop the recording.

This is very interesting. Honestly I don't know, why is behaving this way. I make special app version for you, where is alert window when connection failed.

I think there is something wrong with API (yo uare getting kind of error and stop button is not working properly). Can you try this version a send me screenshots when alert dialog appiers?
You have to allow install from untrusted sources in your android devices and then you have to unzip archive. Zip archive contains apk file, which you can install on your phone.

Thanks for the debug build. I uninstalled the version from Google Play and installed it, and tested with demo.kimai.org and token_user. Unfortunately, it did not show any error, and the button behaviour was the same.

Alright, that means there are not any connection error.
I added ontouchstart event on stop button. Can you please try it?
