Integrate a code coverage tool for contributions

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.

When contributing to the repository there is no way to know the coverage of the Python core code involved in the changes.

Describe the solution you'd like

Integrate a tool such as codecov.

Describe alternatives you've considered

Continue as before without being able to know the code coverage but I think it is not an option.
