thanks @rhshadrach very nice. agree with your rationale for the other part of #9772. I guess its worth opening an issue about it though just to track. |

black pandasgit diff upstream/master -u -- "*.py" | flake8 --diffThis potentially closes #9772. The other issue there involves the perhaps unexpected fact that using
axis=1withgroupby(...).applydoes not transpose the groups that the function is going to be applied to. I've expressed my thoughts on why we should not do so in #9772 (comment).
