Those tests indicate genuine broken code right? will it throw if a user tries to use the
stata functionality on sparc?

@y-p not really sure. it may be a function of the test, because most of the tests actually work, I think its a locale/unicode issue on stata for big endian. you are welcome to take a look.

@y-p i created #5781 to track the stata failures (that are skipped now on big endian) if anyone has time
