Thanks so much for keeping us up to date on this! I think we're good to bump the default version since eol says 1.6 is eol. We'd want to call it out in the release notes. |

Done! Yeah I was partially going by eol, but wanted to see the actual source. Doesn't look like Hashicorp publishes the list officially unfortunatley, so I'm trusting that blog post (though it's isn't worded very clearly). |

Downloaded all the files and generated the mappings that have been missing since 1.7.1.
Wondering if we should remove all the EOL'd versions - according to their support, they support versions for ~2 years
and in fact the wording suggests that they only support at most 2 major versions (which would be, most charitably, 1.7)
