why providing a protocol id is important in `ChainSpec::from_genesis` ?

if no protocol id is specified then when we run the node it says: "Using default protocol ID "sup" because none is configured in the chain specs",

Can someone please tell me why providing a protocol id is important, and propose what protocol id we should use in each of the other relevant configs?

Different nodes will try to establish connections with other matching procotolId discovered nodes.

It would be ideal having a very unique value there for your network. That said, whatever protocolId could be is up to you.
