fpcalc not able to calculate fingerprint for files less than 5 seconds

I am trying to create an audio fingerprint database, however sometimes I get files of duration less than 5 seconds and fpcalc throws error. I would want to be able to fingerprint a file even if it is 1 second mp3 file. Is there any possible solution?
