Chatbot: Tool calls

How do we want it to visually stand out or flow from a message - compare to other tools? Could be standalone or embedded into Messages or both.

Requirements:

• be clear on what the call is and there is an action group
• Way to visually distinguish between inference (response from LLM and other steps)
• [JR] Cursor has visually distinct thinking stages separate from what LLM is telling you
• [JR] If we used a React agent, reasoning steps would all look the same in the message - want a way to visually distinguish what’s going on
• Nicole wagers we want a component for “can I run this” and inject wherever they want

from MCP integration, focused on developer persona( ultimately looking for observability for the ai eng persona). a dev mode variation where you can see the full prompt, and some metrics like time to first token, latency, token count etc
