Per conversation during lead sync (12/19): Chips will be replaced with Label under the hood. So with as few changes to the React Chip API as possible, it's really going to deliver a Label. It can also be marked deprecated (placed into the deprecated directory). It is also not waiting on any Penta related updates - none will be made for Chip.
