Using uv add or uv sync I can't install kaleido. uv pip install kaleido works without any issues.

I'm using Python 3.10 on Linux x86_64

I also faced this issue with uv sync, but additionaly, I can't use kaleido==0.2.1 in my pyproject.toml / requirements.lock since my project will be used for both x86_64 and arm64 targets :-(.

Hm.. 0.2.1 does contain some ARM targets, so my additional worry is not relevant probably. Will check.

Okay, so v0.2.1.post1 was an arm32-only release

v0.2.1 contained all other releases.

So, what I think is that pyproject.toml would have to to have kaleido>=v0.2.1, and I'm going to create an issue in uv to see whether or nor their dependency resolve can fork for different systems, but it may not be possible in uv yet.

uv add kaleido==0.2.1 solved the installation issue, but this is very confusing for the end user

Just ran into this problem on MacOS. Using kaleido==0.2.1 worked.

Yeah, the old versions of kaleido from years ago had a sort of unique release pattern. Closing since it's not supported anyway.

I am still facing the issue described above. The problem it's that this distribution is installed by default when installing kaleido (uv add kaleido). The user does not know that you have to pin to a prior version, which is very confusing

Its only a couple days until there is a new default, but yeah, these headaches are very annoying.

The package managers used to go back and look for versions that had compatible wheels but now it just fails if the most recent version doesn't have wheels for that platform. I'm not sure why the version changed (spec or not?) but it is inconvenient for people using kaleido.
