process collector is not working

Any chance you can determine which process is causing the issue and upload the stat file in /proc/<pid>/stat?
If you apply this patch (0da7772), rebuild and run in with debugging on --log.level="debug", it should tell you which process is causing the issue in the logs.

The 0.18.1 release should include improved logging to help determine where the problem is, but I'm not sure if the root problem still exists, are you still seeing the issue?

I came here to report this issue, too.

I get this repeated in my /var/log/messages

I have tested with the latest release and got the same error message

I upgraded to 1.1.0 and I no longer have those messages in my /var/log/messages
