What timestamp format is expected (micro / milli…) ?

Also since the JSON has been choose to make the backup human-readable, I suggest we consider a human-friendly date standard such as ISO_8601

We should also specify utc to avoid local

maybe we should simply add a timestamp_type field

timestamp_type will solve the timestamp format expected but regardless of the format a timestamp is not human readable such as a standard like ISO_8601

in my idea timestamp_type could have this variants:

• unix_seconds
• unix_milliseconds
• unix_microseconds
• iso_8601
• etc..

If all fields are optional, doesn’t that defeat the purpose of standardization?

As a wallet, let's say I support only ISO_8601, as a user you come to my wallet with a compatible JSON using unix_seconds it will not work. You ask the wallet, but they don't intend to support all existing datetime format.

I feel that we are standardizing the JSON but it's the attributes may not be interoperable.

As another example let's take bip329. bip329 is supporting a wide range of optional attributes, but most wallet doesn't support them, they stick to the non-optional fields.

Regarding bip329 wallets are interoperable mostly on non-optional fields
