Copying my decision from the other merge request: this will be included in master branch and is scheduled for inclusion in 2.0, but will not go into any future 1.x-releases. I will set up a separate branch for 1.x, with the aim of backporting anything not related to niquests. |

@tobixen you might want to have a look at https://github.com/encode/httpx as an alternative. It offers similar features, especially the async part, has been around for some time already, is not run by one maintainer only but rather a large community. |
