Support cropping eg. 100x100# square thumbnail in imagemagick

Title pretty much says it all, but most of the time you are resizing images you have a need to resize to set dimensions and clip the area of the image that doesn't fit into new size. eg. 100x100 thumbnail

A couple of options:

1. The simpler. Currently, there's a setting called maintain_aspect_ratio, which is poorly named and underpowered. This should be replaced by something like a content_mode setting instead with values fit, fill, and stretch. You would then be able to clip by specifying 100x100 as the dimensions and fill as the mode. This would clip the image by centering it in the new dimensions.
2. The more elaborate: adding support for arbitrary clipping. This would require a bit more work to define since the clipped dimensions could be represented in either pre- or post-scaling, and it might not be as useful without the client having knowledge of the original dimensions.

We should probably do both. The first should be easy to do and has been on my list anyway.

if I understand correctly, option 1 would fill my current needs fwiw and I assume most others. Shouldn't this be something passed in via url params instead of static in config file?
