The example doesn't work for webpacker and webpacker-react new version

The current version: webpacker is 1.1 and webpacker-react is 0.2.0.
And this example is using webpacker 0.2, webpacker-react 0.0.1

Please upgrade!!! I spent an embarrassing amount of time trying to get this stupid thing to work, all because WebpackerReact.register() has been changed to WebpackerReact.setup(). I almost abandoned webpacker-react out of frustration, I'm sure many users have been lost due to this...

Ran into the same error. Changing WebpackerReact.register() to WebpackerReact.setup() works.
