In Claude Code, I get this reminder every time:
“The rtk proxy is summarizing the diff. Let me get the raw content differently.”

Is there a way to configure it to use the native git diff instead of the RTK diff summary?

What happens: The hook rewrites git diff → rtk git diff, which compresses output (30 lines/hunk max, 500 lines total). This is intentional for token savings but can be a problem when you need the full diff.

Workarounds available now:

1. rtk git diff --no-compact — disables compression, full raw diff output
2. rtk proxy git diff — 100% raw streaming, zero filtering
3. Add exclude_commands = ["git"] in ~/.config/rtk/config.toml — disables ALL git rewrites

Fix in PR #564: When the diff is truncated, a hint line is now printed so Claude knows how to get the full output:

Verified fixed on develop (v0.34.1). The hint [full diff: rtk git diff --no-compact] was added in commit f2a7306 (March 17) specifically for this issue.

Ran 5 diff size tests to confirm no retry loop:
