Description

Locally, I'm able to type the â character in an IRB console without problems. However, when running IRB remotely on an SSH connexion, I'm unable to type the character.

Remotely

Result of irb_info

.irbrc path: /Users/louim/.irbrc

Remote

Ruby version: 3.1.3
IRB version: irb 1.4.1 (2021-12-25)
InputMethod: ReidlineInputMethod with Reline 0.3.1
.irbrc path: /home/app/.irbrc
RUBY_PLATFORM: x86_64-linux
LANG env: en_CA.UTF-8
LC_ALL env: en_CA.UTF-8
East Asian Ambiguous Width: 1

Terminal Emulator

Iterm 2 Build 3.4.19

Setting Files

Remote:

cat ~/.irbrc
IRB.conf[:USE_AUTOCOMPLETE] = false

Going over the irb_info, I see that the reline and the IRB versions are different. Could it be related? I'm not sure how / when reline and IRB is updated in relation to the installed ruby version.
