I have been in the IT world for over 30 years and have a wide variety of experience. I spent a lot of time as a network administrator, then moved into a security engineer for a while. I have done a lot of QA and software development work as well as cloud infrastructure and DevOps. I wouldn't consider myself an expert in a lot of things, but I am an expert in figuring things out. There is so much to do in this line of work and I love it.
I am a big supporter of the best tool for the job. As a result I write code in a LOT of languages. Here are some that I have experience in. I use Python for most things when it makes sense.
| Python | Bash |
These are not my first go-to languages but sometimes they are the best thing to use. I have used most of these languages for several years.
| C | C++ | Perl | Java | Groovy | JavaScript | TypeScript | PHP | Go |
This is a huge space to cover, but here are some of the ones to note. I steer clear of front-end web work as much as possible. However it is a necessary evil and as a result I have working knowledge of a lot of the popular frameworks. I tend to stick to the backend and API layer.
There are soooo many to list but these seem to be the ones that I have run across most.
You name it, I probably know it and have used it.
I have been a DB administrator for some of the DB's listed here. Mostly I interact with these systems from a developer standpoint. Storage is a part of just about all tech.
